“You…wrote this?” Kame whispered.
“Yeah.” Jin grinned sheepishly in response, “I know it’s childish, and stupid, and all. But I just…I just wanted to.”
Jin watched as Kame’s lips tightened into a straight line and he quickly pushed away the handwritten pages Jin had given him. Jin felt a sharp pressure in his chest in response, but he ignored it.
“If you don’t like, you can just throw it away.” Jin tried to keep his voice light, but he knew some of the strain was apparent in it, “You told me you didn’t want clothes, or games, or movies, or anything. And you know I can’t cook very well. I didn’t know what to give you, so I just…”
“I love it!” Kame cut him off in a torn voice.
Jin then realized in shock that Kame was crying. Had he pushed the papers away so his tears wouldn’t ruin them? Jin thought that maybe he was being arrogant to assume that, but…
“I love it.” Kame said again, this time in a much firmer voice, looking directly at Jin.
“I love YOU.” Jin replied, taking Kame into his arms, “Happy Anniversary Kazuya.”
