Former member of the popular Japanese Boyband, KAT-TUN. He represented the "A" (for "Akanishi").
He is close friends with Yamashita Tomohisa and Yuu Shirota.
He writes his own songs for KAT-TUN (Care, Hesitate, Murasaki, Love or Like) and often takes the hardest parts of their songs because of his impressive vocal range.
Some people think his first name is Hitoshi because of the multiple pronunciations of his name's kanji character. The real pronunciation is Jin, based on one of the Confucian virtues (benevolence). His name was once even published in a magazine as Akanishi Hitoshi.
It's not that I'm a perfect person or anything. I think I have my good and bad points so there's nothing that I'd like to conquer.
'I am me', and I intend to live that way at all times and that style won't change from here on.
Actually at concerts and things I occasionally make mistakes in the dance choreography, but I don't show it so I don't get found out. I guess it's my secret. I've got the personality that doesn't rush into anything so even if I'm asked about the error after, I won't talk about it.
The me when I'm working is actually creating "myself". I think there are a lot of parts of me that wish to conceal my true self because I want to separate my work and private life.
At the risk of sticking my neck out, I secretly hate bugs. It doesn't matter about the kind or the size, but they're what I hate most in the world and my weakness.

(April 2007) He has returned to Japan after a 6-month stay in Los Angeles, California. He is due to return to his KAT-TUN and other entertainment activities.
