ＪＵＭＰ薮、先輩タッキーと新春舞台戦争！ (1/2ページ)
東京?日比谷を舞台に、ジャニーズ新春舞台戦争が勃発だ！！ Ｈｅｙ！Ｓａｙ！ＪＵＭＰの薮宏太（１９）が米ブロードウェーで人気を博したミュージカル「ＳＨＥ ＬＯＶＥＳ ＭＥ」で、年末年始に単独初主演することが１９日、発表された。上演劇場はシアタークリエ。同時期には４００メートルしか離れていない帝国劇場で先輩、滝沢秀明（２７）の公演が予定されているが、「負けてないと言われたい！！」と挑戦状を叩きつけた。
約１カ月半の座長公演が決まったＪＵＭＰの最年長、薮。「みなさんに『素晴らしい』と思ってもらえるよう頑張りたい。今から楽しみです」と気合を示した。
同作は１９６３年の初演以来、本場ブロードウェーで何度も再演された人気作。薮は文通相手に恋する香水店の店員、ジョージを演じ、クリスマスが舞台のキュートなラブストーリーを神田沙也加（２２）と繰り広げる。
いきなりの大役だが、薮には心強い先輩が“助太刀”する。少年隊の錦織一清（４４）と植草克秀（４２）だ。
錦織は２３年連続で主演した「ＰＬＡＹＺＯＮＥ」での演出経験を生かし、演出家として薮を徹底指導。一方の植草は助演で舞台を盛り上げる。錦織は「初主演で不安があると思うが、植草の力も借りて素晴らしい舞台を作ってあげたい」と後輩思いのコメントを寄せた。
劇場も一昨年、芸術座の跡地にオープンしたシアタークリエという大舞台。１２月１２日から１月３１日まで計５６公演の長丁場が待ち受けるが、薮にはへこたれるわけにはいかない理由がある。同じ１月に、同じ日比谷地区の帝劇でタッキーの公演が予定されているためだ。
薮は「常に滝沢クンの背中を見て（バックダンサーとして）踊ってきたので、逆にうれしい。『帝劇に負けてない』と言われるようにしたい」とヤル気満々。しかも、千秋楽の１月３１日は２０歳の誕生日。「１０代最後を最高の思い出で締めくくりたい」と力強く誓った。

Suddenly been given such a huge role, a stouthearted senpai will give a helping hand to Yabu. It is Kazukiyo Nishikiori (44) and Katsuhide Uekusa (42) of Shounen Tai.
Nishikiori will make use of his experiences in "PLAYZONE", which he has played the leading part consecutively for 23 years, to thoroughly teach Yabu as a director. On the other hand, Uekusa will heap up the stage by support-acting in the play.
“There’s the uneasiness starring as the leading actor for the first time but borrowing Uekusa’s strength, you want to make the butai amazing” Nishikiori sent such a comment with consideration to a kouhai.

The production was said to be huge in the Theatre Creation which was opened the year before last at the original site of GeiJyuTuza. Having a long way to wait for the 56 performances in total starting from 12th December until 31st January, there is a reason why Yabu cannot be discouraged. The reason is that Tackey’s play is also scheduled by the Imperial Garden Theater (Teikoku Gekijou) in the same Hibiya district in the same January.
Yabu said full of motivation, ‘since I always dance seeing the back of Takizawa kun (as a backdancer), I feel glad for doing the opposite. Wanna say “I won’t lose to the Teikoku-Production” ’ In addition, the last day of the public performance will be on 31st January which is (Yabu’s) 20th birthday. “I want to complete my 10s with the best memories.” (Yabu) made such a strong promise.
