May I say that you underestimated the intelligence of these actors :)
小栗 knows perfectly well that he needs to work on a big stage project and also promote a movie this summer; yet, he decided to take a major role Isumi in this drama. He understands that a performing artist can be "diverse" if he gets the chance. He is now given the chance! He really has nothing to loose since he would always have the stage and movie. I'm not his fan at all; yet, I could tell that he does have the ambition.
