人気メンバーだった赤西仁が復帰したばかりのKAT-TUNだが、人気の急落に歯止めがかからないらしい。テレビのレギュラー番組視聴率やグッズの売り上げ低迷は深刻なレベルにまでになっているのだと言う。 なにしろ初回の視聴率は2.9%！それを挽回するための4月20日の赤西の復帰宣言であったはずなのだが、関係者たちにもはや期待の声はないという。「初めての冠番組なのに、彼らのウリだった歌もダンスもなく、まるで学芸会のような内容です」 |
こんな雰囲気はKAT-TUNを支えてきたファンの動きにも変化を及ぼした。一例はこの6月6日に発売となるKAT-TUNの新曲「喜びの歌」の予約状況。レコード店スタッフが話す。「KAT-TUNのCDはデビュー作の『RealFace』を頂点に売り上げは右肩下がりが続いています。対照的に赤西クンの休業以降、逆に右肩上がりで伸びているのが関ジャニ∞。
しかも、KAT-TUNのシングルと関ジャニのアルバムが同じ日の発売です。今のところ、予約数だけでいえば、明らかに関ジャニの方が多いですね」
その流れは、東京・原宿の「ジャニーズショップ」でも同様。ジャニーズの人気者たちのブロマイドが壁一面に掲げられているが、なかでもいちばん多いのは関ジャニ∞。「関ジャニだけ50枚以上も買っている人もいましたよ。」と情報を提供してくれた方もいるくらいだ。
