发个英语翻译求教贴

在复习英语,碰到点翻译上的困难.求教XQ的达人.

1.The  reason why coal is still a very valuable source of power is that atomic power is not available in sufficient quantity

2.The fact that she was a few minutes late is not the reason for firing her

3.it is estimated that as much as one fourth of all timber harvested has not been used.

用了,就是没别的办法了,才想到上XQ的.

1. 煤炭之所以还是非常珍贵的能源是因为原子能还没有足够的产量。

2. 她迟到几分钟并不能成为被炒的原因。 （不确定firing late是什么意思，有歧义的说）

3.据统计，四分之一的木材并未被使用。

我翻译的只不过是很生活化的口语，足够看懂什么意思，当然也可以加以润色之类的，在中文里面表达的办法也是很多的。

后面的人也多指教啦~~~

第3句是"harvested has not been used."这里的意思没有明白.

第2句是"firing her",我以为是攻击的意思.

所以翻译不是很自信,就来求教了.

FIRE有解雇的意思的

最近面试很多家公司都突然掏出一张英文说翻译下吧，那个心里发毛，看懂和翻译出来还是有区别的说

求教一下:

其他觉得上面翻译的都ok,这一句最后那部分觉得这样比较好
